Web11 Dec 2024 · won't use WD-40 as a cleaner/lube is in the gold finger cam switches in Tektronix gear. WD-40 is good for the Tek push-button switches however!!! I have flushed the gold finger cam switches with Chloro-Kleen, TriChlorethylene but you have to blow it out with clean air quickly as the chlorinated solvents will attack certain plastics. It's not that easy to find over here, but I believe it's a UK made product, so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding it. Maybe Farnell or RS.
