After the disposal of his museum he retired to Alkrington, and died suddenly at the Bull's Head Inn, Manchester, on 24 Jan. 1788, aged 58. Darcy Lever (c. 1759 – 1839) was a nineteenth-century British author and expert in seamanship, most well known for his work The Young Sea Officer's Sheet Anchor: Or a Key to the Leading of Rigging and to Practical Seamanship.
